Service provider details
Norwegian law requires the provider of an online service to say who is behind it. This page gives the information about the service provider of Local Norway required by section 8 of the Norwegian E-Commerce Act (ehandelsloven): the provider’s name, geographic address, e-mail address, organisation number (organisasjonsnummer) in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Enhetsregisteret) and, where the provider is VAT-registered, the VAT number. The Norwegian text of this page, titled “Opplysninger om tjenesteyter”, is the authoritative version.

Consumer disputes
We try to settle any disagreement directly first; our e-mail address is given above. Consumers in Norway may also ask the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet, forbrukerradet.no) to mediate, and a dispute that is not resolved there can be brought before the Consumer Complaints Committee (Forbrukerklageutvalget). The European Commission’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was closed on 20 July 2025 and is therefore no longer referred to here.
Liability for content
We are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law. For information that users submit or that we store on their behalf, sections 16 to 18 of the E-Commerce Act (ehandelsloven) apply: we are not obliged to generally monitor that information or to actively look for circumstances indicating illegal activity, and we can be held responsible for it only once we know of a specific infringement and fail to act promptly. When we learn of such an infringement we remove or block the content without delay; please use the notice and takedown process. The EU Digital Services Act has not yet been incorporated into the EEA Agreement, but we follow its notice-and-action principles voluntarily.
Liability for links
The site contains links to external websites of third parties, chiefly the websites and Google Maps entries of the businesses listed, over whose content we have no influence. We therefore cannot accept any responsibility for that third-party content; the respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for their content. Because the links are taken automatically from public business information, we cannot review every linked page; where we learn of an infringement we remove the link promptly.
Copyright
The content and works created by us on these pages (design, code, our own texts and the compilation of listings) are protected by the Norwegian Copyright Act (åndsverkloven), including its protection of catalogues and databases. Reproduction, editing, distribution and any kind of exploitation outside the limits of copyright require our written consent; linking to any page is free. Business names, logos and photos belong to their respective owners; reviews belong to their authors and are reproduced under the terms Google offers. If you nevertheless become aware of a copyright infringement, please let us know and we will remove the content promptly.
Source of listing data
The business listings on Local Norway are compiled from publicly available sources, chiefly Google Business Profiles, and refreshed automatically. If a listing is wrong, a business has closed or a listing should be removed, please use the notice and takedown process; owners can also claim and edit their listing themselves. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
